Personal Context

Own your
AI self.

You've told AI about your job, your projects, your preferences - dozens of times. Tomorrow, you'll tell it again. Or switch to a new tool and start from zero. That's broken. Your context should be yours.

Local-first Encrypted Portable

Every AI interaction starts cold

You open a new conversation. The AI doesn't know who you are. Doesn't know your role, your projects, your constraints. So you explain. Again.

Or you use "memory" features. But whose memory is it? OpenAI's? Anthropic's? Stored on their servers, in their format, for their purposes. Can you export it? Take it somewhere else? Usually: no.

The AI companies have built memory as lock-in. The more context they have about you, the harder it is to leave. That's not a feature for you. It's a feature for them.

Context scattered across tools that don't connect
No idea what AI "remembers" or where it goes
Switch providers, start over from nothing
Your context is their data asset, not yours

The real problem isn't memory

AI "memory" features don't solve the problem because they're designed wrong. The problem isn't remembering - it's ownership.

Extraction model

AI companies extract context from your conversations. They own it. They decide what to remember. You're the data source.

Authorship model

You author your own context. You own it. You decide what to share, when, with which AI. You're the author, not the source.

The Personal Context Vault inverts the power relationship. Instead of AI companies owning your context and extracting value from it, you author your own machine-readable self and choose when to share.

How the vault works

1

Author your context

Your roles, projects, preferences, history - structured in a way AI can understand. You write it. You control it.

2

Keep it local

Your vault lives on your device, encrypted with your keys. Not on our servers. Not on OpenAI's servers. Yours.

3

Connect when you choose

Start a conversation with any AI. Choose to share context - full, partial, or none. The AI gets what you permit, nothing more.

4

Take it with you

Switch from Claude to GPT to a local model. Your context travels with you. No lock-in. Portable by design.

Questions

Is my data really private?

Your vault is encrypted on your device with keys only you control. We can't read it even if we wanted to. Free tier is entirely local. Pro sync is end-to-end encrypted.

How does it connect to AI providers?

We use MCP (Model Context Protocol) - an open standard for connecting context to AI. Works with Claude, GPT, and any provider that supports MCP.

Can I export my data?

Always. Your vault is in an open format (CFS). Export anytime. We believe in portability, not lock-in. If you want to leave, take everything with you.

What's the difference from ChatGPT memory?

ChatGPT memory is owned by OpenAI, stored on their servers, in their format, not portable. Your vault is owned by you, stored locally, open format, works with any AI.
